Picasso Birthplace Museum
This museum opened its doors in October 2003. It was made to fulfiil the artist’s desire that wanted his work was present in the city where he was born in 1881. The daughter-in-law and granddaughter of the artist contributed with donations of their art funds to the creation of this museum.
In its facilities you can see almost 250 works belonging to the eight decades of work of Pablo Picasso, an essential route to understand the history of this art. Malaga has the first headquarters of the Pompidou Center which is located outside France. Opened in the spring of 2015 is located in a unique building, known as “The Cube”. Which fills this part of town with color and originality.
In this museum modern art is the main protagonist. In its rooms you will find works by such important artists as Frida Kahlo, Bacon, Leger, Magritte, Ernst, Chirico, Giacometti, Brancusi, Miró, Tapies, among others. Carmen Thyssen Museum Malaga
If you are an art lover you can not miss this museum. It is located in the Villalón´s Palace, a renaissance building of the S. XVI. Inside you will find 285 works that are part of the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection.
The exhibitions that you will find in this museum are organized in four sections:
Ancient Masters: with works from the 17th century.
Romantic landscape and costumbrismo, in this part is reflected the vision that the romantic travelers had of Spain, its culture, the architecture, the customs and popular festivals.
Precise and naturalistic landscape, showing works from the second half of the 19th century, characterized by small format, colorful and with great care of the small details. And on the other hand shows the transformations from the romantic subjectivist landscape to the more realistic landscape of naturalism.
End of century: a tour of Spanish painting at the end of the 19th century with works made by Joaquin Sorolla, Aureliano de Beruete, Dario de Regoyos, Ramón Casas, Ricard Canals, Francisco Iturrino and José Gutiérrez Solana, among others.

Russian Museum Collection
This Museum was inaugurated in March of 2015. It is located in a beautiful building from 1920 that in the past was the Tobacco Factory of Málaga.
The Russian art that fills this museum will surprise you by its creativity. It has works by artists of universal fame, belonging to Russian and Soviet art as Repin, Kandinsky, Tatlin, Rodchenko or Chagall.
